Beyond Autism: Empowering Parents to Support Children with Developmental Delays
Does your child struggle to learn and complete basic daily tasks?
Does your child have difficulty with basic, everyday communication?
Does your child struggle with understanding safety risks and require constant supervision
Does your child have diagnosed or suspected “Global Developmental Delay” or intellectual disability?
This is a 4-week virtual parent group run by a Registered Psychologist and Psychology PhD Students at the Mary J. Wright Child and Youth Development Clinic. Together, we will help you understand what Autism is and what is “Beyond Autism”, requiring additional support and strategies. In each session, you’ll connect with other parents about your journey and gain insights into children’s development. Then, you will meet individually with a Graduate Student Clinician to create an action plan that addresses your child’s overall development, in addition to symptoms of Autism. After the group, you will get an individual follow-up support call to help you figure out the next steps, with our Psychology Team. Join us as we empower each other by sharing knowledge and experiences and developing an actionable plan to support your child’s needs beyond Autism.
